About Us
Pastor Wendy Smith Martin:
A Visionary Leader, Dynamic Preacher, and Spiritual Trailblazer
Pastor Wendy Smith Martin is a woman of unwavering faith, wisdom, and integrity, dedicated to transforming lives through the power of God’s Word. A native of Jackson, Tennessee, she is the youngest
of five children born to the late Rev. William Frank Smith and Ruth Smith. Her foundation in faith and leadership was established early, shaping her into the powerful vessel she is today.
A proud graduate of Lane College, Pastor Wendy earned her B.S. in Business Administration in 1984. During her time at Lane, she pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., serving as the Bearer of the 9 White Pearls, and met her husband, Mr. Barrington Martin—her lifelong partner in faith and purpose.
In January 1998, Pastor Wendy boldly answered her divine call to ministry, delivering her first sermon, “Burn It” (Exodus 12:1-10), a message that signified her unwavering “YES” to God. With a heart set on ministering to the whole person—spirit, mind, and body—she birthed Greater Victory Christian Center, a ministry designed to set a new standard in preaching the gospel and impacting lives. On December 31, 2002, the vision became reality as Greater Victory Christian Center held its first service, marking the beginning of a transformative movement.
Committed to both spiritual and academic excellence, Pastor Wendy furthered her theological studies, earning a Master of Arts from Beulah Heights University Bible College in Atlanta, Georgia. Her preaching style is uniquely her own—rich in poetic commentary, profound insights, and powerful applications of biblical truths that resonate across generations and cultures. With a vision that transcends racial and denominational lines, she delivers a fresh, anointed message of hope, restoration, and healing.
Pastor Wendy gives of herself unselfishly to the work of the Lord. She is God-chosen, Jesus-sanctioned, and Holy Ghost-empowered, leading a movement of transformation in the Body of Christ. A respected visionary, mentor, and friend, she is nationally recognized as one “Chosen for such a time as this.”
Her life’s mission is clear: to empower, uplift, and bring God’s people into Greater Victory!
